It’s just awesome to hear of local companies jumping on board to help out with relief efforts in Haiti, but it’s also awesome that people aren’t forgetting those in need on a more local scale.
For many years, Danielle Knowles of Abbotsford’s Red Pencil Editing Service has been involved in fundraising and marketing for charity and non-profit organizations. In the last 18 months, she has seen several groups forced to cut services, volunteers asked to take on more responsibilities, and donors giving less. “People still care about the causes, they just don’t have the money to donate,” she says. “Consequently, NPOs are making do with less.”
Local charities rely on volunteer assistance when it comes to preparing press releases, or writing website content and marketing materials. Red Pencil Editing Services has designated February as Local NPO Promotion Month – a very kind, helpful gesture!
Fraser Valley charities and NPOs in need of writing or editing services may contact Red Pencil Editing Services this month for complimentary assistance. “These are services that can help promote charitable agencies during these tough times, yet some of them can’t afford to hire our services at the moment,” states Danielle. “If our writing can help attract donations and volunteers, thus benefiting our city, that would be fantastic.”

Kudos on paying it forward to some fabulous local organizations who have really felt the economic crunch!
