The derby interested me greatly getting the kids out fishing for the day. Then I saw the cost!! Ouch, with my wife and two kids I’d be looking at $220 for a day on the lake! That’s a lot of money for a family oriented event. Are the proceeds going to charity? Looks like a well organized affair that limits peoples participation simply by cost. $100 for a family isn’t too unreasonable but $220…..

    Hi Jamie,

thanks for your repsonse, there has been a few people inquiring about the cost. Last year a number of people fished free (kids & seniors), which was great, but in the end, the even ended up costing us money. As a community organization, in order to continue with the event, we needed to ensure our cost were covered. We are in the process of reviewing pricing and we would welcome the opportunity to offer you a more affordable family rate should you still be interested.

    Sincerely,
    Shannon Milne
