CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHELLE V. THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED.
Unusual edible delights fascinate us. Delicious things delight us. When we learned about Tina Bacon and The Pink Spatula, life was fairly exciting
Tina is a very talented local pastry chef whose sweet business began in early 2009 , and we are excited to introduce you to her!
Tina has had a passion for baking since she was a young girl. It had always been a hobby, supported by her friends and family. It wasn’t until two life changing events, leaving a job she’d been at for years followed by serious treatments for a life threatening disease, that Tina turned this hobby into a passion-fueled career. Watching Tina bake is extraordinary – she actually smiles while she’s creating! It’s fantastic to see this survivor doing something she absolutely loves and, by the way, totally rockin’ it!!!
One of our favourite Tina-creations is her handmade marshmallows. An absolutely perfect holiday hostess gift, these things will melt in your mouth. From toasted coconut to creme de menthe, holiday spice, ancho chilies or liquer-soaked fruit, The Pink Spatula specialty marshmallows are available in some delectable flavours. Imagine a creme de menthe mallow topping a latte or hot chocolate, or savouring a toasted coconut marshmallow which is a delight on its own. No artificial flavours or colourings are added to these delicious delights – only fruit, pure vanilla, ground spices and sometimes a liqueur. Find these marshmallows at City Blends Coffee & Tea House in Mission, Well Seasoned in Langley and at next weekend’s Shed Row Market.
Also available at Well Seasoned are Tina’s frozen cookie doughs. The cookies are already moulded and prepared – you literally just thaw, bake, et voila – perfect cookies! Dark Chocolate Sour Cherry Pecan, Lemon Black Pepper Shortbread log and Double Ginger Cookies are just a few of the varieties available. YUMMY!
Between us, our team has enjoyed a number of Tina’s baking classes. Decadent Desserts, Simple Gluten-Free… this lady knows her stuff! You will find Tina’s classes at Well Seasoned in Langley, including some upcoming Christmas candy and cookie classes that you won’t want to miss!
If you have a chance to try out Tina’s creations, your sweet tooth will do a happy dance. And seriously, try the marshmallows. Please leave a note below to be entered to win a package of each of The Pink Spatula’s holiday marshmallow flavours: Creme de Menthe, Sweet Heat Chili, Cranberry Orange, Holiday Spice and Toasted Coconut. We think these would make great stocking stuffers, if they make it to Christmas!
