Our Story
How did Fraser Valley Pulse come to be?  It is the brainchild of our Founder & Chief Editor, Kristi Ferguson, Director of Double You Business & Lifestyle Services.
Kristi’s love for entrepreneurism began at a young age, as she watched several family members run successful small businesses. At age 19, not knowing what she wanted to be “when she grew up”, Kristi attended YES Canada’s Youth Entrepreneur Program. This course further solidified her desire to run her own business one day, and her love for the passion & drive of the entrepreneurial spirit. The next few years Kristi worked for a number of multi-media companies in Vancouver, Toronto & the UK, gaining marketing/advertising experience, with a focus on online advertising and communications.  In 2004, Kristi returned home to the Lower Mainland.
In 2004 Kristi realized her dream of becoming a business owner when she started Double You: a virtual assistant, event planning & personal assistant company based in Langley.  Double You focuses on assisting small businesses with online marketing & advertising plans.  As time goes on, the business profile continues to grow.  Double You has allowed Kristi to meet and support several local businesses as she calls upon contractors to work on her projects.  As a personal shopper, Kristi is always finding delightful gift shops and boutiques throughout the Fraser Valley.  She is the “go to” person for her clients, friends and family.  If they want to know what’s on in town, where to find this or that – they know Kristi’s mental library is stacked with information!
As the Fraser Valley grew over the past few years, Kristi took note of a few things needing improvement.  The most important point was wishing to create a place to celebrate the wonderful local Fraser Valley businesses she’s grown to love and support. Also on her mind was the lack of affordable, targeted local advertising that she’d struggled to find for Double You. Never one to let the grass grow under her feet, Kristi grasped the opportunity with both hands and launched FraserValleyPulse.com – a neighbourhood lifestyle guide for Fraser Valley men and women who live and work in the exciting, diverse communities that make up the Fraser Valley.
