Pulse Spotlight, June 8/09 – Elements of Balance

The FraserValleyPulse.com team has been visiting these two wonderful Registered Massage Therapists for a few years, and we’re so excited to share their new venture with you!

Leah Radatzke & Viva Schurch graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2002.  The two have remained good friends ever since, and had the opportunity to work together over the past few years. In February 2009, they became business partners, and opened their new clinic, Elements of Balance.

element2-300x265Leah & Viva’s entrepreneurial spirit kicked in full swing as they set up shop and planned for the extra rooms in their clinic. They didn’t just open a standard massage therapy clinic, they wanted to create an experience for their patients; a place to come and experience wellness, balance. Within a couple of months of opening, plans for additional therapists came to fruition. Elements of Balance has recently welcomed another Registered Massage Therapist to the team. Jessika Greysen also graduated from WCCMT, and has taken her yoga teaching certification.  “I hope to integrate the principles found in yoga with the principles found in myofascial release,” she says. Sounds like a perfect fit! Leah & Viva are hoping to bring on board a pilates instructor, and other wellness professionals in the future.

Elements of Balance looks and feels more like a spa than your everyday therapy clinic. Vibrant wall colours, soothing music, warm massage tables and dimmed lights welcome patients at the clinic.  We can attest to the fact that one really does feel more balanced after a visit to these talented Registered Massage Therapists in South Surrey!

All three ladies regularly update their education with courses in visceral manipulation and cranial sacral therapies. Visceral manipulation treats and soothes many physical challenges that people struggle with long-term. Acid Reflux, IBS, dropped bladder, lack of energy and many other problems can be soothed or corrected with visceral treatment. Cranial sacral is described as manual therapy involving gentle but consistent massage and manipulation of the scalp, spinal column and sacrum to reduce physical and psychological tensions. Incorporating these treatments into their practice leaves Leah, Viva & Jessika knowing their patients leave feeling more relaxed, but also that they will experience a better quality of life. Elements of Balance is not only a funky, relaxing space – these therapists are truly committed to helping their patients experience a healthier, more balanced existence.
All you local business owners could use a massage, we’re sure.  Give them a call, you won’t be sorry!  Tell them FVP sent you :)
