Cerealicious Eats – Pulse Spotlight – 04.18.11

We are sad to announce that Cerealicious Eats has now closed its doors.

Cerealicious Eats. The name of this week’s spotlight caught our attention immediately. When we learned it was a Marble Slab-esque concept for cereal instead of ice cream, we rushed over to take a peek!

Inspired by a concept that is popular in other nations, owners Jonathan & Ute decided that it’s about time such a place opened in their neighbourhood. Cerealicious Eats was the answer to their desire to create a business which married their passion for community and people with a family-friendly venture which allowed them lots of time with their children. In November 2010 they opened the door to this great cereal bar in Surrey.

At Cerealicious Eats you will find 25 varieties of cereal, including Cerealicious Eats’ own premium granola recipes. Guests are invited to choose their own cereal adventures by adding one or more toppings to their bowls. Fruit, pumpkin seeds, marshmallows, chocolate chips – you can make your cereal creations as sinful or healthy as you wish. Many different milks are available as well: oat, soy, regular, almond.

As many of us know, cereal ain’t just for breakfast! Many enjoy it as a wonderful anytime snack that can be as healthy or as not-so-healthy as you choose to make it. ¬†Cerealicious Eats has become a popular after school hang out. Mum and Dad can enjoy a fine cup of 49th Parallel espresso while the kids enjoy a super fun afternoon snack.

The beautiful wooden table in the middle of the dining area is perfect to do some homework, play a game or spread out your favourite newspaper or magazine.

For those who aren’t into cereal, Cerealicious Eats also offers made-to-order fresh sandwiches, homemade granola, nut-free granola ball snacks, muffins, biscotti and these cereal s’mores treats (below) that were a huge hit when Jonathan brought them out for guests to sample.

We think a cereal bar is such a fun idea and love that Cerealicious Eats chose our neck of the woods to set up shop. If you’re in the area, do stop by to create a cerealicious treat for yourself! It’s funny how much fun a cereal bar can be, both for kids and for those of us that will always be 8 years old when it comes to fun treats!

  1. Hi Kristi… I have been a teacher for years…. in Vancouver and Mission. I am also an artist. I retired from teaching about a year and a half ago and unexpectedly bought a sewing machine, having never sewn, or wanted to, in my life. I am having great success… within a year I was at a fine boutique on Granville South in Vancouver AND was accepted into Circle Craft Christmas Show. I am just starting an on line web site… and the one of a kind work that is shown is mostly from a crazily successful Fashion Show at Monk McQueen’s in Vancouver just last month… anyway… I SURE could use some help… right now, much as women love and buy from me… I am putting out financially much more than I am getting in… with this new venture of mine…

Anyway… hope you will have a look… http://www.k-o.me and get in touch… thanks so much!… Kjaer

We’re passionate about what we do and feel that awareness of ones surroundings is key to making good decisions. We chose Morgan Crossing because it is a hub of conscientious consumers who appreciate alternatives. We look forward to meeting as many people as possible on our adventure!

Thanks for checking out Kristi’s blog, she is a great person to have a face-to-face conversation with, too; something that is not to be under-estimated! Thanks Kristi.
