Pitt Meadows Day takes place this year on June 4, 2011. This year marks 70 years of community celebration! Wow!
The day starts off at 7AM (till 10AM) with the infamous pancake breakfast, hosted by the Pitt Meadows Lions Club. This is a family favourite and a great way to start off the festivities!
Enjoy the parade from 11AM – 12:30PM. The route is as follows: The parade starts at Blakely Road and Hammond Road, goes west on Hammond Road and north on Harris Road to end at the Heritage Hall. Kids love the Pitt Meadows Day parade! I grew up as a kid in Pitt Meadows Day and I still remember the firetruck and all of the exciting floats driving by. What a fun time!
Harris Park is the place to be for the rest of the day. From 12:30PM – 5:00PM the park is alive with festivities. Baseball games, rock climbing, face painting, live music and a historic car display are just some of the things you will experience at this year’s event. Be ready at 1:00PM for the opening ceremonies and crowning of the Pitt Meadows Day Queen.
Salmon dinner is served by the Pitt Meadows volunteer firefighters in the Heritage Hall from 5PM – 7PM and a family dance happens upstairs from 6:30PM – 8:30PM.
