Hemlock Valley Resort is located about half an hour east of Mission, half an hour west of Harrison Hot Springs. From Harrison Mills you turn and drive up, up, way up the mountain (approximately 30 minutes). Winter conditions are often severe, so vehicles are required to carry chains. Check Hemlock’s road report before heading up.

What an absolute blast we had. We were treated to a guided alpine snowshoeing adventure with a fantastic guide, Benji. It was quite the workout, but soooo much fun! At the end of the day we channeled our inner children and took to the tubing hills. Now that was fun, and an activity that kids young and old will get a kick out of.

The Golden Chariot offers Fraser Valley winery tours, which is something we have been wanting to do for quite some time.  We hopped aboard to check out three of the Fraser Valley’s finest wineries, with a lunch stop at the delectable Milsean Shoppe!

What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon in the Fraser Valley!  A perfect idea for a day out with friends, a stag/stagette, staff appreciation events and birthday celebrations!

Mike and his lovely wife showed up to our event with four covered bottles, so we couldn’t judge them based on the labels. Once they are covered up, we realized how often we actually do pre-judge based on what’s on the outside of the bottle!
The four wines chosen were perfect summer sipping wines – Mike really does know how to pick ‘em! Before the big reveal we all decided we really enjoyed a certain red… turned out it was one made by Mike in his garage!

It was an absolute blast!  Mike’s unorthodox approach to wine education is refreshing.  We learned a lot and had fun doing so!

Mike is a wine enthusiast who shares informative videos on his website and also lends his expertise to corporate and private events. We bet Mike’s outgoing personality would make him the hit of any party!

We packed up the FVP mobile with our bicycles, some water and our helmets and headed over to the Barnston Island ferry. The ferry ride is just five minutes across the Fraser River and it is free of charge.  The ferry runs daily from 6:15AM, on demand, until 11:55PM (12:55AM on the weekends).

Barston Island is a serene, enjoyable place to ride your bike.  We passed only 3 cars on our hour-long bike ride (we stopped to take lots of photos, if you don’t do so the ride would be much shorter).  There are all kinds of farm animals and birds (we saw loads of eagles!) to stop and watch.  Every so often you’ll pass a little opening in the trees that will lead down to a small cove or beach area along the river – the perfect place to enjoy a snack or sit and take in the soft sounds of the island and river.

To arrive at the Barnston Island ferry, head North on 176th Street in Surrey until you can’t go any further… turn right onto 104th Avenue and travel a few blocks until you reach the ferry parking lot at the river’s edge.

It’s couples night out in the Fraser Valley.  What to do, what to do?  We grabbed a few friends and made our way to Galaxy Bowl in Abbotsford!

When was the last time any of us had some professional photos taken with our BFFs?  ”Our wedding” was the answer from most of our team.  That’s no good!  So we hired a local Make-Up Artist and headed to Adore Pictures in Chilliwack for a fun night of looking glamourous and having a photographer there to prove it

Adore Pictures is an adorable, fun photography studio set in a heritage building in downtown Chilliwack.  Not only a perfect place for girl’s night out in the Fraser Valley, Adore is a fabulous studio for family, baby, couples and even pet photography.  One of the best features – the session fees are only $29.95!!

We asked Pam O’Keefe to come along to our fun adventure as well.  Pam is a Make-Up Artist and she knew just the right tricks to highlight our best features.  An absolute riot herself, Pam was awesome to have along on our ladies night out.

We were tired of the same old, same old dinner and drinks for ladies night.  So we put on our stretchy clothes, tied our hair back and went rock climbing!

The Rock Wall in Maple Ridge is literally 30 seconds from the new Golden Ears Bridge (on the Maple Ridge side).  Monday nights from 7PM – 9PM is ladies night!  Instructor Nikki taught us how to work all of the equipment, then set us free to climb!  We laughed ourselves silly and got a pretty great workout while doing so.  We’re no spring chickens, so there were some nerves beforehand – but we actually ended up being some of the youngest ones there… women of all ages were enjoying a great night out.  Highly recommend you try it out – with your girlfriends, with your family, even on your own (they have someone you can partner up with on Wednesday evenings).
