Pulse Adventure: Golden Chariot Fraser Valley Wine Tour

We have been on a new Pulse Adventure!

The Golden Chariot offers Fraser Valley winery tours, which is something we have been wanting to do for quite some time. We hopped aboard to check out three of the Fraser Valley’s finest wineries, with a lunch stop at the delectable Milsean Shoppe!

What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon in the Fraser Valley! A perfect idea for a day out with friends, a stag/stagette, staff appreciation events and birthday celebrations!

Pulse Adventure: Barnston Island

Barnston Island is situated on the Fraser River, in between Pitt Meadows and Surrey, BC. It’s a quaint, serene community of less than 200 people. We’ve heard for years that Barnston Island is a fabulous place for a bike ride; it’s flat, approximately 8 KM around – a perfect outing for a family, a group of friends or a date!

We packed up the FVP mobile with our bicycles, some water and our helmets and headed over to the Barnston Island ferry. The ferry ride is just five minutes across the Fraser River and it is free of charge. The ferry runs daily from 6:15AM, on demand, until 11:55PM (12:55AM on the weekends).

Barston Island is a serene, enjoyable place to ride your bike. We passed only 3 cars on our hour-long bike ride (we stopped to take lots of photos, if you don’t do so the ride would be much shorter). There are all kinds of farm animals and birds (we saw loads of eagles!) to stop and watch. Every so often you’ll pass a little opening in the trees that will lead down to a small cove or beach area along the river – the perfect place to enjoy a snack or sit and take in the soft sounds of the island and river.

To arrive at the Barnston Island ferry, head North on 176th Street in Surrey until you can’t go any further… turn right onto 104th Avenue and travel a few blocks until you reach the ferry parking lot at the river’s edge.

Couples Night Out: Bowling

We’ve been on a new Pulse Adventure!

It’s couples night out in the Fraser Valley. What to do, what to do? We grabbed a few friends and made our way to Galaxy Bowl in Abbotsford!

Galaxy Bowl is a 20 lane 5 pin bowling centre in Abbotsford. Whether it’s a fun night out with friends, an afternoon with the family or a corporate/birthday party, Galaxy Bowl can accommodate. If you’re looking for a fun girl’s night out in the Fraser Valley – Saturday nights are ladies nigh at Galaxy Bowl! From 8PM – midnight ladies bowl for free (you just have to rent your bowling shoes)! A fabulous, safe, fun way to enjoy a night out with the ladies.

Now doesn’t that look like fun? Bowling is an affordable, fun night out for kids of all ages. Try it out! Some other great Fraser Valley bowling alleys include Clover Lanes, Willowbrook Lanes, Xcalibur Bowling Centre, Sandcastle Lanes, Chillibowl Lanes and Revs.

Each month we will introduce you to a great day or night out in the Fraser Valley. We’ll show you where to eat, shop, play and stay! You’ll enjoy the same FVP style commentary and photos, with the addition of FVP TV video footage of our adventures! We’re putting the finishing touches on Pulse Adventure #1, so sit tight until February.
