Save the Date – Fraser Valley Blogathon 2010

In 2009 I participated in Blogathon, a 24 hour blogging ‘marathon’ that sees bloggers writing new posts every 30 minutes from 6AM through 6AM the following day.  Why? For charity of course!  I collected donations to benefit the Langley Animal Shelter Society.

The 2010 Blogathon in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley will be held on August 21, 2010 at 6AM (until 6AM August 22nd).  I will be hosting an on-location event here in the Fraser Valley, while Rebecca & Raul will once again be organizing an awesome Vancouver location for anyone on that side of the bridge :)

babycheeks Book Drive

If your children have tired of some of their gently used books, take them over to South Surrey’s babycheeks.  They are presently collecting kids books to include in their Book Drive on July 17th and 18th, 2010.  Visit the store that weekend to choose some new reads for your little ones, all by donation to Free the Children.

This is a great way to clear out some clutter and to get some new reading material for the summer break!

Frosting Cupcakery 1st Anniversary Celebration

Congratulations to our friends at Frosting Cupcakery in Langley!  They are celebrating one year in business this week and FVP is thrilled to be part of the celebrations!

On Sunday, June 27th, join us at Frosting Cupcakery for an afternoon of fun.  The Fraser Valley’s own Greg Neufeld will be playing at 2:30PM, the Langley Chiefs will be testing your hockey skills, free cupcakes… it’s going to be quite the celebration!

It’s 2010 and unfortunately many local businesses still are not taking this whole internet thing seriously.  Have you ever said or thought the following:  ”My niece built me a little website in high school class, that’s all my business needs.”  ”Social media and online advertising?  Too confusing, no thanks.”  Or worse case scenario: “I’m not sure I need to be online.”

2010 Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair: On Now

I had the opportunity to stop by the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair as it opened its doors today.  I didn’t have a chance to check everything out, but here are a few teasers to show you that the 2010 Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair are going to be AWESOME!

The Country Fair is serious fun for all ages.  The sights, tastes and sounds of a busy fair were in full swing by the time I arrived.  Mini donuts, cotton candy, carnival games, face painting, psychic readings and some wild rides for kids and adults… fun stuff!
