Paralympic Torch Relay
Sunday, March 7th, 2010The 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay makes it way through Maple Ridge this Wednesday, March 10th. From 6:30PM – 8:00PM, be in Memorial Peace Park to catch all the Paralympic excitement! Over thirty torchbearers will carry the torch in a relay through Memorial Peace Park.
There will be great live entertainment from a number of talented locals including the Joe Fernandes Band, West Coast Contortion, Danielle Foulds, Tiller’s Folly and others. Participate in kids crafts, Paralympic sport demonstrations and much more!

The Vagina Monologues in Abbotsford

Hope For Haiti at The Beauty Lounge
Thursday, February 4th, 2010Need a hair cut? Spa manicure? 30 minute massage or brow wax? This Sunday, February 7th, The Beauty Lounge Salon & Spa in Langley is offering a variety of hair and esthetics services to raise funds for a Haitian orphanage. ALL monies donated will be sent to Danita’s Children Orphanage in Haiti. This orphanage has been operating for over 10 years and houses more than 570 children. Thankfully, they were spared any damage during the earthquakes. This gives them the opportunity to be rescuing orphaned children that are making their way out of the ruined Port-au-Prince.
